Folded Motion™ tweeter for detailed sound

The distinctive sound of the ElectroMotion IW starts with MartinLogan's Folded Motion tweeter. Rather than a dome or cone driver, this tweeter uses a pleated diaphragm that works like an accordion by "squeezing" air to create sound. It requires about 90% less excursion than a typical 1" dome tweeter, resulting in quicker response time and much lower distortion. The tweeter's controlled sound dispersion creates a focused soundstage with a real sense of presence. Music and movie soundtracks sound amazingly detailed, but smooth and effortless, without a trace of harshness.

Bass that keeps pace

The speaker's tight, responsive bass and dynamic midrange come courtesy of a 6-1/2" aluminum cone woofer. Mounted in a rigid, cast-aluminum basket to minimize unwanted resonance, the woofer supplies fast, clean sound that blends seamlessly with the Folded Motion tweeter. A hand-built, audiophile-grade crossover further ensures precise driver integration for high-accuracy sound.

Installer-friendy design

The ElectroMotion IW's robust mounting-lock system allows quick, trouble-free installation, providing firm coupling of the speaker's chassis to the wall. And this speaker is practically invisible thanks to an ultra-low profile, micro-perforated grille and hidden bezel. Magnets hold the grille in place, reducing the risk of warping or damage during installation.
